Emma & Lee’s Wedfest
“Woolstock” a 3 day wedding festival
Emma & Lee are huge festival fans so there was only ever going to be one way they would celebrate their wedding, by putting on their very own wedding festival!
This could be considered a risky thing with the British weather being unpredictable, but the sun Gods provided the most fantastic weather for their September wedding. It really couldn’t have been any better!
“We wanted our wedding to be the epitome of ‘us’ … and the feedback we have had from guests since the wedding was that it was such a genuine, happy, loved up weekend. Everyone was super-happy, all got on so well – it was like our own little festival bubble for the entire weekend of music, games, drinks, silent discos and fab food.”
“We didn’t want a ‘same-old’ wedding, nor did we want something serious and overly-fancy … plus we are both massive festival fans, and have always wanted to put on our very own festival, so thought what better time to do that than for our wedding. We are so glad we did as it was just the best weekend ever.”
Emma and her bridal party travelled in two vintage VW split screen camper vans (from Vinnie’s Vintage Vehicles, our VW transport company, www.vinniesvintagehire.co.uk). Emma’s Mum, Cieny, two flower girls, Nikita and Brooke, and Louie the little dog, travelled in “Rose” the ivory camper van. The Bride arrived in full festival glory in “Sleepy Jean”, the sage green camper van, with her brother Mike (who was bestowed the honour of giving his sister away), Maria (Maid of Honour), and two bridesmaids, Laura and Bel.
Louie is taking it all in his stride!
Zeus is enjoying the limelight.
Lee had two best men; Dave, known to most as ‘Radders’ and his brother CJ. Emma’s brother Mike gave his sister’s hand away.
As Emma and Lee didn’t want a traditional style wedding, their celebrant, Jim, was quite happy to wear his Elvis sun glasses and bright green golfing attire. (Apparently he always wears green so there were no surprises there!). “Jim was hilarious given that he’d only read the script his wife Debbie wrote that morning as he was so nervous, but he delivered it in the best way he knows – in a genuine, funny, heartfelt way.”
“Lee and I wrote our own vows. I had tested mine on my sis-in-law that morning and made her cry … Lee just cried throughout the service and his vows, and will now forever be known as ‘Leaky Lee’.”
After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed spending time with their family and friends, chilling out with drinks, music, eating fantastic food, having their photos taken, and soaking up the wedding atmosphere.
“Lee and I are both massive camper van fans as you know, and having your beautiful vans at our wedding was the perfect way to arrive, and the best accessory to the beautiful arena that had been created by The Wedding Festival Company (TWFC) … I can’t have imagined arriving in any other way to be honest. I’m just so glad we booked them and that the colours were perfect too – complete coincidence that one of your vans (Sleepy Jean) was the same colours as my bridesmaids’ dress and colour scheme! Everyone loved the vans too, it was so nice to see so many of our friends and family having photos in the vans – was such fun!!”
Enjoy the rest of the fun and laughter xxx
